Lavender is a floral appearance plant which is in the mint family. In ancient times it was known as the holy herb. The main active ingredient in lavender is linaool, lineally acetate, lavandulol, geraniol, bornyl acetate, Borneol, terpineol and eucalyptus, these oil ingredients are all beneficial and have a anti -fungal effect. Lets focus on linaool the substance in lavender when used as a essential oil or tea can have a sleep inducing effects and lowering of a steroid hormone called cortisol. When cortisol levels are high it causes adrenaline which causes heart rate and hyperventilation. Cortisol is responsible for the flights and flight response know as anxiety. Luckily we are give this wonderful plant to reduce all of these levels so our body can maintain balance. Balance is important because when these levels are out of balance it can cause other problems as well stress can be linked to heart attacks, anxiety disorders, depression. Sometimes when mental health is out of wack the physical body can be as well. The Brain cannot send proper signals to the body when the fight and flight response ( cortisol) levels are highly active. Lavender when used physically can decrease bacteria and when mixed with others essential oils or water can soothe skin and reduce inflammation. Lavender should not be consume or drinking when in form of a essential oil, Because it can cause a negative effect, Lavender when used as a essential oil should be diffused and mixed with water in a essential oil diffuser or used as an incense when is great for mediation and purifying the air. If you wants to consume lavender as a tea it has to be organic and pure then added to a tea bag then steamed in hot water. Lavender Tea benefits are incredible good for the body and equally effective.
